Community of Communities: Fall 2025

Practicing Nonviolent Communication

Democracy requires engagement with others. The question is: how?

A Mutual Learning Workshop

With everything that is going on socially and politically today, it's important to learn how to constructively engage with others about contentious issues because those issues can have real impacts on real people. This is especially true as the holidays approach and we prepare to engage with long-standing disagreements with loved ones.

That's why its important to learn the skills of nonviolent communication to engage with the humanity of both the people spouting hateful, misinformed ideas and the people targeted by those ideas. In this Community of Communities workshop, we will learn more about Nonviolent Communication and do a Forum Theatre exercise for us to practice engaging in constructive ways.
